My You Tube Debut

Here it is
sit down with your popcorn and enjoy, it may be short and sweet but then again the best things come in small packages and this is small but very very good!!!
Making this video was an experience !! but it was fun fun fun!
My son and I son enjoyed making the buns, however he as embarrassed about the video and would be rather upset knowing it is on You Tube !
It was for a home work project from school that was encouraging familes to work together and it worked !

Sunday !!

So as you know I don't like Sundays however today has been a very productive one. I have revised my socks off and been hard at it all day. I must say that in the past (a long time ago) I did not revise for exams but returning to education after over twenty years I have learnt a valuable lesson..... Most of the time ..... You get out what you put in !! 

So here is hoping, I got a C for my Maths GCSE and I hope to do the same for English. I certainly have put in so I hope a C comes out !!!

Revision tip

Down load as many past papers you can find and read read read 

Just gives you more of an idea of the way in which the questions are styled 

It gives you the answer papers too, to check your right !!!

Even if you just read them and say the answers out loud (to yourself) and check you were right, helps with the comprehension side and understand what they want you to answer with 

Easier than writing it and does help a little and as they say ... Every little helps

Countdown to the big day

So only three more sleeps till my GCSE English exam and it's fair to say I'm panicking !!!! 

I have studied hard and still revising ( I will be doing so until it begins!!) 

Going into college Monday night for the last English lesson ever (hopefully) 

I don't normally go Mondays but it's the last one before the exam so I'm making a special appearance !! 

Right studying finished for today, a good nights sleep and back to it first thing tomomorow morning !!!

Stop.....motion !

So I was terrified of this assignment on making a video ! But working alongside a great team made it not so scary after all. Think it's a case of the unknown and most people are scared of what they don't know !! (Ann Marie back me up) !!

So once Paul had explained and we got going, I really enjoyed it. It was good to know how effective it was and something I will be sure to use in future when teaching. Think it is really useful for getting messages across but also getting the children to make one themselves. I will keep you posted on Amy future movies and may even be on the big scree one day !!!

Cakes for colleagues at college

Now how's that for a good bit of alliteration (Adam GCSE Teacher) 

We were all busy working away and a very kind young lady celebrating her 18th birthday (Miriam) came over and offered us some deliciously looking cake ( I'll report on how it tastes later) 

Can I just say, it restores my faith in that there are still some lovely people in this world ( or in bradford at least) 

So a big thank you to her and I wish her a very happy day

ICT lesson

Going through E Safety, makes me feel funny as it can be such a risk .... the internet !! Take this blogger site depending what I have set my settings to, anyone in the world could be reading this !!! 

Will make sure that my settings are private just in case I want to post something that I only want my friends to see !!

Revision

GCSE revision going ok, I have got through lots of past papers and think I am getting better bit by bit!!! 

Although still a long way to go and only two weeks left !!! 

I keep going on GCSE bite size and hopefully the information is subconsciously sinking in !!! 

I have read more reviews and magazines than ever before !!! 

Anyway back to the revision

So I posted a link to GCSE Bitesze, I have found this to be an amazing tool to help me with my revision in perpetration for my exam on the 2nd June. 

It's only weeks away and I am logging on to bitesize daily !!! 

It has been such a help in all areas if the course as it covers everything that can come up in the exam. 

So from letters to language 

              Articles to alliteration

             Reviews to revision tips 

And not to mention help with spelling punctuation and grammar that is a must on that second paper !!!

My last post was regarding my observations and the current assignment with thanks to others on the course I am now actually starting slowly to understand !! It takes time for me to get there but I will do eventually 

The assignment is in separate parts which I thought would be easier however it has confused me even further

Sat my mock exam this week and ran out of time, so I am now revising under a timer !! I need and want my C so much. I am reading as much as I can, just need to practice writing quicker !!!!

Today we received our results for the Effective Teacher assignment.  I worked very very hard on this piece of work, and despite problems with my reading and my ongoing issues with my level of academic writing, I was amazed to hear my results .....72% which is my highest grade to date. As you can imagine I was shocked, surprised, and completely stunned by this mark (which was checked by Debbie Rolls) so it is real !!!!
Just want to take this opportunity to thank my college friends for their continued support and kind words which mean the world, I would not have being able to this course without their help.

I did it !!

So very proud of myself today, I have completed my coding assignment and passed with flying colours! It was a little scary to begin with, and the thought of playing Angry Birds at college would only have appealed to my nine year old son ! but I persevered and with help from fellow coders, we managed to get through all 20 levels. some of the levels were tricky and needed more than one attempt !
so well done everyone in the class and well done me.

Dixons Manningham Primary School

Had a great time at Dixon's,  visiting our fellow colleges friends, at their place of work.

Really interesting and useful to compare our two schools and how everyday life is different. 

Made me realise how lucky and unlucky I am in my school !!!!

GCSE English

Well everyone all my hard work and revising and reading the most boring books poems and other rubbish better known as Shakespeare !!! Has paid off I am very proud to say I got an A- for one of my coursework assessments !!! 

Unbelievable 

It was not marked for spelling punctuation or grammar which is a good thing or I would have had an E !!! 

So that's my good news for the week

The day after the night before !!!

Feeling very relieved that my presentation is over and I am now wishing I could do it again !! Nerves got the better of me ! 

I worked really hard on my power point and took lots of time on things, others would be able to do quite easily ! I'll be better next time fingers crossed !

Presentation day

Hello there 

Well it's presentation day today and to say I'm nervous is an under statement !!!

I have spent time on my presentation and if I can upload it I will ...... But please bare with !!! Or I'll put a link in !!! 

So ttfn for now and I'll let you know how it goes ........

Well last weeks lesson was, horrific !
Not knowing much about IT, I was fearful of the lesson before it begun, and it did not disappoint !
I was nervous and along with friend, we plodded through a very tough lesson, whilst everyone else seemed to know what they were doing ! ( NO DIFFERENCE TO ANY OTHER LESSON)
At the end of the session we were not much more confident about ICT than we were before !!!
HOWEVER.........
The lesson today was a complete success, especially for my friend and fellow student Ann Marie Clifton who I'd just like to give a big HOOORAY too.
We mastered how to blog and created our own blog site, which to some is not much, but when you know nothing and learn something it is a BIG deal.
SO WELL DONE ME
